Teaching & Research Assistantships
The Texts and Technology PhD Program in conjunction with the Department of English offer a limited number of graduate teaching assistantships (GTA) each year on a competitive basis. These assistantships also require some research work especially in the first year of the program. The program may also offer graduate research assistantships (GRA) also on a competitive basis. Students who accept graduate assistantships should not hold any additional full-time employment.
Internship and Teaching Practicum
In addition to meeting course requirements, students must also complete both a professional internship and a teaching practicum, for six credit hours each. Students may arrange internships in industry, government, or school settings (including UCF); however all internships must be approved and supervised by the T&T Internship Coordinator.
Each student must complete a teaching PRacticum that includes a significant digital component. Teaching Practica may be completed at UCF or other sites approved by the T&T Teaching Practicum Coordinator. Students Must Complete ENG 6813 Teaching Online in T&T before beginning ther teaching practica.
Internships may also be completed as part of on-campus major research projects. The teaching practicum will be arranged and supervised by the department.
