Undergraduate Programs

The Creative Writing track introduces students to fiction, poetry, and non-fiction prose through the appreciation of existing texts as well as the production of their own texts in these three genres. Students learn the craft of writing creatively through the study of theory and the close analysis of their own practice.

As members of the UCF Department of English, Creative Writing students participate in numerous departmental activities:

• UCF Texts and Technology Doctoral Program
• The Zeta Xi Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the National English Honor Society
• The Creative Writing Lab
• Two creative writing journals, The Florida Review and The Cypress Dome
